Velvet Revolver began with a spring 2002 jam session that reunited ex-Guns N’ Roses bandmates Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), and Matt Sorum (drums) on-stage. With the discovery that their chemistry was still going strong, the trio began pushing around some new music and auditioning singers for what became known as “the Project.” Well, it’s no GNR or Velvet Revolver. This is a good review of the Scott Weiland solo tour that took place in Philadelphia. Seems Scott doesn’t play any Velvet Revolver or Stone Temple Pilots stuff. A rumour has reached Classic Rock that the singer Velvet Revolver are seeking to recruit to replace Scott Weiland is Irishman Phil Conalane from Million Dollar Reload. Velvet Revolver and former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum has appeared in several video interviews voicing his thoughts about his former band’s recently released Chinese Democracy. The band Velvet Revolver, whose membership includes the Guns N’ Roses refugees Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum, announced that it had parted ways with RCA Records. So you live in Seattle, you used to play bass in a world-changing rock band, but these days you’ve got some time on your hands. What to do? Well, if you’re Krist Novoselic of Nirvana, or Duff McKagan formerly of Guns N’ Roses/currently of Velvet Revolver, the answer is clear: New Guns N’ Roses is honestly reviewed by a fan of GNR as well as Velvet Revolver. The search for Scott Weiland’s replacement could be over… for good.
